Multi-instrumentalist Chigrakov has discovered a shortcut to the hearts of music addicts of the mid-nineties by blending in equal proportions American music of the sixties with neighborhood lyrics and mid-Russian melancholy mixed with blues. His unsophisticated and catchy blues and ballads have brought back into the Russian music the lyricism and melodiousness that were typical of the Soviet Union's so-called VIAs (literally, vocal & instrumental ensembles), and his noisy thrillers such as "Vechnaya Molodost" and "Takiye Dela, Brat" ("Eternal Youth" and "So It Goes, Brother" respectively) have created hope that national rock music does have future. Despite the fact that Chizh & Co's latest studio album was released almost ten years ago, their songs are still popular, which is evidenced by sell-outs in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
