On October 9, Moscow’s B1 club will see the band Melnitsa with their big autumn gig (which has already become a good tradition for the band) and the city is in for all the new and the best from the leading group of the Russian folk scene.
B1 will hear the songs from Melnitsa’s two first albums, “Doroga Sna” and “Pereval”, plus compositions from “Zov Krovi”, the presentation of which took place at Luzhniki and the great final show at B1, and there will also be their new hits from “Dikie Travy”, the premiere of which was a sell-out at Olimpiysky Sports Complex in February 2009.
Melnitsa’s hits have been nominated for the major rock awards and have won them. Their albums have gone through more than one re-release. Over 100.000 people know their music in at least 80 cities of Russia and other countries where Melnitsa have played. The leading band of the national folk rock has performed at almost all major rock festivals and even initiated a new thematic open air, FolkDay.
On October 9, Melnitsa will not only demonstrate their high musical and hit-making mastery but also introduce a new look on the folk rock music. “For this gig we’ve prepared some exclusively arranged compositions of various times – those which the audience recognizes from the first chords – and they will feature some guest appearances,” says the band’s vocalist, Hellawes. “On the big stage of B1 we’re going to surprise the audience with the new interpretation of our music material plus there will be some other surprises!” On October 9, B1 will hear Hellawes say the words that usually open Melnitsa’s gigs – literally, “We’ll be making it beautiful for you” – and the renowned magic of the band will make it come true.
