She can do the part of a miracle, a female alien, a Russian Matryoshka, a marionette manipulated by the god Apollo, and a gorgeous singer. She's happened to be a daughter of the Swedish diplomat, Ivanna Anders, according to her fake passport, an American girl Nineteen Nineties with documents she purchased for seven dollars, and Zhanna Aguzarova, the Queen of Rock'n'Roll. Who can guarantee, however, that the last one, which is the most well-known, is her real name?

She's been hailed as extraordinary and mad, mannered and brusque to name but four words, but her voice is above all. It's her voice that astounds everyone who hears Zhanna Aguzarova live for the first time. Evgeny Havtan, who has introduced her voice to the world, as well as other musicians and people who have nothing to do with music - everybody has mentioned that "goose bumps sensation" while listening to her voice.

The story of Zhanna Aguzarova's meeting Evgeny Havtan and formation of the band Bravo in 1983 have made their way into history: she phoned Evgeny and came to the rehearsal, and was then invited to the band. Bravo and their female vocalist performed their first gig, and Moscow's audience was stunned. The rumor of a new fantastic singer ran through the city.

Zhanna has a unique gift of finding the right lyrics to the songs. The lyrics that she married to Havtan's music became the basis of their first 20-minute record taped in 1984. "We played our gigs and I felt that people began to keep track of us," says Evgeny Havtan. "In order to perpetuate our songs, not aware yet of what would happen to us, we made this record at our rehearsal studio with the help of the first tape recorders' distributors, Viktor Alisov and Yuri Sevostyanov. For me, this record is currently the epitome of energy, vibes, and the right amount of sincerity and trash - for everything in it is just enough for what a band's first record should be."

Zhanna Aguzarova is still a second to none "goddess of outrageousness" because of her unpredictable and often shocking conduct and extremely eccentric clothing preferences. But most of those who know her say that mystification is her forte. She's always been playing to the audience - indeed, she several times tried to enter a theater college in her time. The leading part for Zhanna Aguzarova, however, is herself.
